About The Founder

Hussein Allam holds an MSc in Finance from London Business School and a BA in Economics from the American University in Cairo.


Since setting up Caravel Financial in 2009 he worked on a diverse range of mandates that included advising bidders pursuing large PPP infrastructure projects tendered by the Egyptian government;  carrying out extensive financial modelling for residential, office and mixed-use real estate developments; liaising with banks to raise debt for a number of industrial projects; helping out clients seeking expansion capital; and carrying out firm valuations for a number of acquisition deals.


Prior to that, he worked as a financial advisor at Hassan Allam Group and was responsible for overseeing the group’s financial strategy, deploying its monetary resources among the various businesses and raising the necessary financing. In addition, he carried out feasibility studies for the group’s investments which included numerous real estate projects and a number of industrial ventures in the fields of cement, sugar and fertilizer production.


Hussein’s previous experience also includes a role as an investment analyst at Actis Capital (a private equity firm specializing in emerging markets) where he was involved in the acquisition of Sinai Marble and Mo’men (the fast food chain) along with at least ten other deals that came under consideration. He is currently the chairman of Caravel Financial.
